Que? Repite por favor? Un Otra Vez????

Yesterday we started at Covant garden, it was a beautiful day, we saw trashy shirts, plastic jewelry, cheesy street performers, a man sitting underneath a box, with his face painted as a dog, pointing out of a dog kennel box and he sits there on the street and scares kids..very interesting scene over there.

We bought some fresh cherries, got lost in High Holbourne, got stuck in the mess of Oxford street, there were so many people out and about shopping!! We ended up finding the Hog and Pound, a classic pub that Maddie used to frequent in high school to sign karaoke at night...they had good sanwiches, fish and chips and 'jacket' potatoes, or bake potatoes in America.

Next, we walked all the way to Hyde Park, and even though Maddie had to pee like whoa, we walked all the way to the Palace and tried to go to Speakers Corner in the park where historically there are crazy folks who talk about religion and god...but we couldn't find anyone! The park was beautiful, a huge clean area of green manicured grass, much prettier than in America that's for sure...people were sun tanning and having a great ol' time

Many cartwheels and a tube ride later...we were back home and ready to eat a yummy homemade duck and potatoes meal that Paula and Mark made for us, delicious! We had a lovely relaxing night at the Katz Tevis home, and ramped up some excitement for Britain's Got Talent which is all the rage here in England, everyone is talking about it- we even overheard a couple at the table next to ours later that night chat about who they think should win! So there we were, Paula, Mark, Matt, Maddie and I all gathered around the TV to see the Semi-finals of the show. It was super entertaining and easy to get into, as this was my first time viewing the show, and by the end of it we were all so excited to see the finals show the next night (tonight).

Today, Maddie and I walked to the next neighborhood over from West Hampstead and shopped at a super cheap and trendy store called Primark, which is the child store of Ross and Forever 21, we ended up buying a handful of colorful skirts and dresses- you shall soon see them on us in our future photos in Spain. Then we tried to find some new athletic shoes for Maddie since her hiking boots have been giving her mad blisters...but no go, the only memorable moment was when we were in Foot Locker and the girls who worked there asked us, 'Are you American?' and after we had established that we were, they immediately asked us about Michael Jackson since the one girl was obsessed with him.

Next we met Paula and Mark at the Gourmet Burger restaurant down the street and ate really thick and juicy burgers with chips (big chunky fries), so good. For the rest of our day we have been online and reading our guide book just planning out the train, and bus schedules, hostel reservations and such for Spain- and have been praciticing our espanol tambien when we cal the hostel- we're a bit rusty- there are lots of 'repite por favor?' and 'un otra vez?' soooo we definitely are just banking on the hope that once immersed in the country that we'll pick it up again in no time! Espero que si...

Alas, it's almost 1am and we're still up packing, and printing out our bus tickets and plane tickets for our trip to Madrid Monday morning at 5am. Whew!

Maddie would like to add: The pleasures of being home, your father mistakes your facebook profile as his own and now your status reads, 'Say Good night Dick, you f-ing wanker!' Good thing I'm trying to get a job right now..
